Students at Innoventures Education schools were inspired and motivated by the stories of Kiprono Koskei and Wiseman Were, two award-winning Kenyan athletes who have been sponsored by Innoventures Education.
As part of its commitment to the Dubai 30×30 Challenge, which aims to transform Dubai into the most active city in the world, Innoventures Education has sponsored Koskei and Were and given them access to their world class athletics facilities at their schools. All in a bid to help make them reach the Kenyan Olympic team for Tokyo 2020.
Kiprono Koskei is a multiple national champion who has represented Kenya at the World, Commonwealth and African Games. He won gold at the 2015 African Games as part of the 4×400 metre relay team. Wiseman Were is a Men’s 110m hurdler.
Throughout the week the athletes have held assemblies where they shared their exceptional journeys into sport, inspiring students with stories of determination, exhausting training schedules, heartbreaking failures and personal adversities, before hosting a series of fitness sessions with students from Collegiate American School, Raffles International School, Raffles World Academy, and Dubai International Academy at the Emirates Hills and Al Barsha branches.
Poonam Bhojani, founding CEO of Innoventures Education, commented: ‘Hearing inspirational stories of successful athletes reminds students that anything is possible and that despite difficult obstacles, your dreams can come true when you are determined to be the best you can be.’
Innoventures Educations empowers students with a holistic, rigorous and international education, and provides invaluable learning opportunities to teach students how to appreciate what they have and how to keep pursuing their dreams.
