As a rapidly expanding educational institution, with a number of British Curricular schools under its umbrella, Star Education is proud to announce its first American Curricular school, Bright Learners Private School, located in Al Rashidiya, Dubai. The announcement comes in line with the institution’s recent mission to create a quality assured board of schools that encompass a broad-spectrum of curricula.
Aligned with the Massachusetts state standards, and the UAE’s National Curriculum for Arabic and Islamic Studies, the campus offers personalised learning provided by a team of highly-qualified US educators, to give students an opportunity to have an authentic American education in Dubai. The campus serves students from Pre-K through to Grade 5, with plans to further expand and offer levels up to 12th grade. Bright Learners Private School specializes in English, Math, Science, Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education. To provide students with the ability to thrive physically, the school grounds hold an array of state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including a multi-purpose sports hall, football pitch, swimming pools, and padel tennis courts.
The curriculum offers a combination of 21st-century, digital technology, and traditional student-centered learning practices to ensure the children achieve academic success and social growth. Bright Learners Private School strives to promote inquiry-based learning, independent thinking, and social and emotional holistic development. The core subjects from Pre-K through to Grade 5 are delivered through the framework of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and National Standards for Social Studies (NSSS). Arabic and Islamic studies are carried out through the approved Ministry of Education (MOE) framework.
Bright Learners commenced the 2021 academic year with its newly appointed Principal, Sulaiman Akbar, who holds over two decades of educational experience, a Master’s degree in Special Education from PACE University in New York City, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University. Commenting on Star Education announcing Bright Learner’s as their first American School, Principal Sulaiman Akbar shares “Having Bright Learners become part of Star Education offers many benefits such as, senior leaders sharing of professional knowledge and schools allocating resources more efficiently, learning from and supporting one another by sharing practice and opportunities for children to reach their highest potential”.
