His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, today attended a graduation ceremony for the 2024 cohort of the Higher Colleges of Technology(HCT) from across its Dubai campuses,at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
The graduation ceremony, held under the theme ‘Empowering Minds, Creating Future,’saw His Highness honouring 34 outstanding students who graduated with Distinction or Honours from amongst a cohort of 432 by awarding them their certificates.
The graduation ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology; Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President and CEO; Dr. Yahya Al Ansaari, Executive Director of HCT- Dubai Campuses;in addition to HCT teaching and administrative staff, and parents and families of the graduating students.
Leadership’s support acknowledged
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by a laser show and a video presentation titled ‘Igniting Excellence.’ Dr. Faisal Alayyan, HCT President and CEO, then delivered a speech on behalf of the HCT Board of Trustees, expressing his deep gratitude and appreciation to the UAE’s leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for their unwavering support for the institution, which, he said, significantly contributed to its continued success in fostering talented professionals across various vital fields.
Dr. Alayyanemphasised that the graduation ceremony celebrated the success of the youth of the nation, specifically the 2024 cohort of HCT-Dubai. He noted that graduates emerging from the institution reflected the vision of the UAE’s leadership to empower youth with the skills and knowledge required to succeed. Since its inception, HCT has focused on serving as a platform for developing human resources that contribute positively to building a stronger economic system, he added, highlighting some of HCT’s standout achievements in training skilled professionals and successfully placing them in key sectors.
On behalf of HCT’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Alayyan announced the graduation of 432 students from Dubai campuses of HCT, voicing his confidence in their readiness to serve the nation by inspiring development in diverse sectors.
Ready to step up
During their acknowledgment speech, the graduates expressed their immense joy at completing their educational programme and their pride in having been part of HCT, which equipped them with the skills and knowhow needed to face up to challenges and demonstrate their capabilities in a highly competitive world. They also conveyed their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the UAE leadership for its unwavering support, which enabled them to achieve their academic goals and prepare for the future.
They also expressed their gratitude to everyone who supported them through their journey and acknowledged the dedication and sincerity of teachers who inspired their academic achievements, in addition to their ever-supportive parents.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Mansoor joined the graduates for a commemorative group photograph. His Highness congratulated the students on their achievements and wished them well in all their future endeavours.
