Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), visited Raffles Starters in The Springs to experience Bug Bytes – an innovative learning experience on wheels designed for young children. He was joined by children from Raffles Starters, who had the chance to engage with EXPO2020 Dubai-themed mascots using virtual reality.
Dr. Al Karam’s visit is part of KHDA’s Teach Together 2020 initiative that aims to spend time with teachers and their students in Dubai as they learn about EXPO2020 and how the UAE is looking towards the next 50 years.
Bug Bytes is a fun and engaging innovative initiative for young leaners which provides high quality technology teaching. It was launched by Innoventures Education and for children between three to four years. Children have access to a world of new experiences on a specially-designed age appropriate bus, designed to make them curious learners.
The Bug Bytes programme encourages the use of technology as a tool to accelerate the learning process and continue to build networked learning environments where students explore their own ideas, develop skills, and build confidence in them through the use of technology.
The Bug Bytes Bus visits all the Innoventures Education Raffles Nurseries in Dubai and provides purposeful, high quality preschool learning experiences. This initiative is part of the ‘World on Wheels’ project which aims to bring mobile technology across Innoventures Education’s schools. Bug Bytes was recently shortlisted in the ‘Innovation in Education Award’ category at the 2020 Global Educational Supplies & Solutions (GESS) Awards.
