In light of the exceptional worldwide circumstances imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and at a time when coexistence with that pandemic has become an urgent matter to ensure the continuation of the process of construction and development, the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA) in all its work joints has resorted to adopting all means and tools of communication available in the virtual world to carry out the tasks on its agenda, which contributed to opening new horizons in the path of innovation and production in all aspects of the educational process.
As the world celebrates the International Day of Education today, which bore the slogan ‘Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation’, the EDA has been keen to contribute putting this slogan into effect, as we recently started implementing our plan for the hybrid education model, which will allow our future diplomats, for the first time during this academic year, to attend their classes at the Academy campus for one day a week.
Despite all the precaution measures and closures imposed by the pandemic, the EDA has been keen to continue hosting experts, global leaders and diplomats, as it used to be, to meet and put in the hands of its students most of their expertise. We also did not ignore the new direction of the UAE to build the largest strategic plan for its next fifty years. Our virtual platform, “Diplomacy for the Next 50 Years,” came to incorporate two of our main priorities.
Our wise leadership has proven that hindrances such those posed by the pandemic give us a scope to do better and think outside the box. Covid-19 has taught us many lessons that are crucial to build a sustainable future, where all of us will need to contribute, just as EDA and other institutions in the education sector are doing.
