Middlesex University (MDX) Dubai has expanded its range of specialisations by launching a new Master of Science in Sport Performance Analysis for the very first time.
As professional clubs and elite athletes increasingly rely on objective data and performance analysis to enhance their sporting excellence, the new degree is a direct response to the world’s growing demand for highly skilled performance analysts. Filling a vital gap in the market, the course structure comprehensively covers every element of how to record, harness, and utilise sports data effectively in professional and amateur sport.

This unique programme not only caters to the sports industry but provides extensive data analytics and AI skills applicable across various sectors. Our graduates will excel in diverse roles from sports performance analysts to broader positions in business and technology. Moving beyond traditional sports management, the programme provides participants with the skills and tools to generate data from various sports and analyse the data using AI tools and algorithms. A hands-on programme that features a mix of practical study, self-directed study, and project-based learning, the engaging modules cover relevant topics such as performance indicators, performance profiling, reliability testing, and statistical analysis, along with the utilisation of cutting-edge, industry-standard software such as Sportscode and Dartfish.
The University, recently confirmed as the largest UK KHDA-licensed university in Dubai by student enrolments in the KHDA Open Data Report 2023 – 2024, will offer this programme either full-time or part-time, and applications are open now for September 2024.
Delivered through an innovative format that includes no formal lectures, the programme is taught in specialist lab facilities that have been developed on campus exclusively for the degree.
