Dar Al Marefa, Dubai’s only premier English-Arabic bilingual school has announced record-breaking International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results for the 2020-21 academic year.
Dar Al Marefa’s 26-strong cohort achieved a 100% pass rate and recorded an IB average score of 37.2 points. 94% of the school’s students met or exceeded this year’s 30-points world average score, with a staggering 44% of students achieving 40 points or more. Additionally, most Dar al Marefa graduates embark on the IB Diploma Programme in two languages, with 83% of students achieving a Bilingual Diploma, putting them at a significant advantage for future career opportunities in the Arab world, and beyond.
This record-breaking success is a significant value added to the school’s students who outperformed their Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) potential by 1.5 points per subject, on average, to attain impressive final results. This solidifies Dar Al Marefa’s commitment to delivering an educational experience where students are challenged to excel, providing a solid foundation to empower them to become the next generation of leaders.
The school’s graduates will now benefit from this world-renowned qualification by joining some of the top-ranking universities in the UK and the UAE. With a high scoring IBDP, the door is now open for students to study across a broad range of disciplines, due to the diversity of subjects taught and skillsets attained as part of the Programme’s curriculum.
An inspiring educational initiative by Al Ghurair Investment, Dar Al Marefa is both a top-ranked regional learning institution and the only bilingual International Baccalaureate Curriculum school in Dubai. In partnership with parents, friends, and the local community, the school aims to make a significant contribution to the UAE’s next generation, instilling in them both the nation’s values and the skills and knowledge they need to build sustainable career paths.
Commenting on the results, Naira Hamdy, School Principal, stated: “We are so proud of our students’ outstanding results and congratulate them on setting new standards of academic excellence. After one of the most challenging years in recent history, due to the ongoing pandemic, it was inspiring to witness our students’ deep commitment towards attaining their IB, with the guidance of our faculty.
At Dar Al Marefa, our aim is to make a significant contribution to the UAE’s next generation of leaders, and to the next phase of the country’s economic development, by nurturing young minds. We are inspired by the continued tenacity and dedication of our students as they strive towards becoming future leaders.
