To help cope with COVID-19 travel limitations, Heriot-Watt University Dubaihaslaunchedthe ‘Home Fee Guarantee’initiative for British students currently based in the UAE. Under this special arrangement, British expat students unable to travel home this September can commence their higher education at Heriot-Watt’s Dubai campus and also enjoy the freedom to transfer to the UK campuses to take advantage of ‘home fees’ upon easing of travel restrictions.
Commenting on the same, Claire Roper-Browning, the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment at Heriot-Watt University Dubai said, “These are unprecedented times and several aspects of our lives have changed beyond recognition. Under these circumstances, we felt we should look for ways to help students continue to work towards their higher education dreams to enable them to build their lives and careers and the Home Fee Guarantee is one such way by which we hope to make this possible.”
To avail of this temporary concession, prospective students will need to apply for their desired programme through the Heriot-Watt University Dubai website. Upon acceptance, they will be charged the published tuition fee of the Dubai campus. Several scholarships and discounts are also available to prospective students. Once travel restrictions are lifted, students will be able to request a transfer to Heriot-Watt’s UK campuses, where they will then be charged the home fees, which are currently published at GBP 9,250 per annum.
