ZU 4th Zayed University Environmental Health And Safety Event

40 government and private companies showcased a variety of best practices in environmental protection, sustainability, health and safety during the 4th annual Environmental Health and Safety Campaign EHS-EVENT 2020, held on both campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Based on a cognitive learning atmosphere, EHS, which was organized by the ZU Campus Physical Development & Services (CPDS), focused on technological developments, Emergency preparedness, firefighting and fire prevention, power and water conservation, waste disposal, green rating systems and innovative advancements concerning EHS.

Sadiq Al Mulla, Chief Administration and Finance Officer at Zayed University, said: “In pursuance of our Commitment towards Sustainable Environmental Practices, Healthy wellbeing, and Safe work practices, the event stimulated a variety of displays, live demonstrations, competitions, and fun activities.”

He added, “Our stakeholders (employees and students) were excited to experience and learn various EHS technological advancement from Police authorities, Civil defense authorities, Municipal Authorities, Ambulatory services, RTA authorities, Health Authorities, Sports Authorities, National Center of Meteorology, Agriculture authorities, Crisis and Disaster Management authorities and various leading private sector companies.”

Riham Hwaidi, Campus Physical Development & Services Director at Zayed University, said: “As an annual event, students and employees look forward to benefiting and learning new things from the various demonstrations and displays. We ensure to work closely with the participating entities to select different activities every year. The planning process starts several months ahead of the event with careful planning for every detail. Zayed University ensures the spreading of EHS awareness throughout the year and develops continuous programs for self-learning and induction.”

The event, which was themed “Stay Safe and Help Others Be Safe,” stimulated a learning environment with interactive workshops, lectures, live demonstrations, and displayed various exhibits.
